DreamDancing Designs began in 1997 as a home-based business. I got the idea for the name as a result of the books
I was reading at the time - "Do What You Love, the Money will Follow" by Marsha Sinetar, "I Could Do Anything If I
Only Knew What It Was" and "Live the Life You Love", both by Barbara Sher - and since I have also been a very musical
person for most of my life, I thought about dancing through my dreams as I brought them into reality…
and now you might see how the name came about.
Counted cross stitch has been a favorite craft of mine for more than 30 years. I was always so fascinated by the way
a beautiful picture came to life out of tiny little stitched squares! It was a wonderful blending of my linear/logical mind
and the creative spirit in my soul. Counted cross stitch is such a simple craft - I was self-taught, as are many others.
The skills needed are easy to master and many who have tried it became addicted to it. Yet for whatever reason,
this craft no longer enjoys the kind of popularity it once had. As a result, the "business" aspect of DreamDancing
Designs has changed, but I continue to sell my designs on the web because...
well, because it's how I love to spend my time and I'm one of the addicted stitchers, I guess.
I began with the hope of bringing satisfaction and enjoyment to a wide variety of cross stitchers. Some of
the designs you have seen on these pages are simple enough to be created by a patient novice stitcher,
while others contain aspects to challenge the more experienced as well.
Through this combination of simplicity and attention to detail, I hope to bring new stitchers into the cross
stitch circle of friends and to strengthen the bonds for those of us who have long enjoyed this craft medium.
And as I said in the beginning, I thank you for your interest in DreamDancing Designs!

The Great Lakes series includes "Marquette Harbor", "Big Bay Point", "Point Betsie",
"Old Mackinac Point" and "Seul Choix Point". "Eagle Harbor Lighthouse" was added recently and
"White River Lighthouse" is the newest arrival!.
A new coastal series begins with California's "East Brother" lighthouse
and continues with New Jersey's "Hereford Inlet" lighthouse.
